Fix them with the help of volunteers who can't afford a bike. The voluntary work acts as credit towards one of the bikes. -------------- We could run a repairs workshop for the local community where people bring in a broken object and can use our facilities to fix it and someone can be on hand to help them. http://www.theguardian.com/social-enterprise-network/2012/jan/18/guardian-social-enterprise-award-winner Then people wouldn't need to buy a replacement object. --------------- I want to look at origami and printed electronics. I think a foldable device with an analouge interface would be quite sweet. It could be especially useful for devices that adhere to the single responsibility principle weherein each device does one job. I haven't looked at standards and protocols but a nice extension would be to network them, most probably as slaves to a master device (I.e. a tablet or smartphone) so that it would be possible to interact with it using a digital interface. --------------- Au revoir. If you listen closely, you can hear the startup tribe in Swansea getting excited about running an event where volunteers meet for the day to help social enterprises with a specific problem. I assume that Swansea Hacksapce could possibly utilise this resource (should it exist) to solve problems like finding a space to hack in. Regardless, I am bringing materials for origami and one of my friends from SMU; Nik Whitehead may be bringing Star Trek origami :> I hope to see you guys at our usual! It is RS stock number 506-2176 They are in a 5 pin SOT23 package, so while small, not impossible to deal with, using normal tools. Bearing in mind that the RS price is ex-VAT, if you'd like a few then I have some to sell at 2.60 GBP each, Steve. Istr someone already suggesting this place, but their rates were too high. The website suggests that 114 sqft is ?150 a month, which doesnt sound so great, but maybe worth talking to them. previous discussions suggested about 600 sqft (the size of that front room at volcano) would be a good starting size.
