Bonjour Roger :>

--------------

I know that Mike-o-soft do something similar if not the same.

https://plus.google.com/116734004574926933341/

--------------

If we had the time between us, we could always do something like this as a
social business:

http://recyclesouthwales.wordpress.com/

They take in bikes as donations.

Fix them with the help of volunteers who can't afford a bike.

The voluntary work acts as credit towards one of the bikes.

--------------

We could run a repairs workshop for the local community where people bring
in a broken object and can use our facilities to fix it and someone can be
on hand to help them.

http://www.theguardian.com/social-enterprise-network/2012/jan/18/guardian-social-enterprise-award-winner

Then people wouldn't need to buy a replacement object.

---------------

I want to look at origami and printed electronics.

I think a foldable device with an analouge interface would be quite sweet.

It could be especially useful for devices that adhere to the single
responsibility principle weherein each device does one job.

I haven't looked at standards and protocols but a nice extension would be
to network them, most probably as slaves to a master device (I.e. a tablet
or smartphone) so that it would be possible to interact with it using a
digital interface.

---------------

Au revoir.

Jen
