[Swansea Hackspace] Teaching Children to Code

It was me, October sounds good, plenty of time to for a structure and publicise it with schools/what's on guide etc.

Following a link (I think it was Richard) posted to the Thinkersmith guides I downloaded and read through the cup stacking "My Robot Friend" activity, it makes perfect sense. Would be a good start to an activity group.

For older kids we could go into coding a "Robot Friend" (parent) to build lego, as you mentioned earlier, we could attempt to style the "code" similar to openscad, maybe hitch an openscad tutorial on for the following week to develop interest, as it wouldn't be a much of a bigger step, it would have potential to pull parents in as members, even if their child does not take to coding.

Just for fun (with some embedded code learning) the children could program their parent/guardian as a printer...

Or a little more colourful but along the same lines...

Not at all, I think this is a great partnering idea.

Someone (David.?) mentioned this school holidays; tbh I'm too tightly
scheduled to do that -- How about we work towards a Saturday
workshop in October to coincide with EU code week.? 10-18th.

Nothing in Wales YET! :)
