This is a very interesting point, and one i have been discussing with
others lately.

If you take a look at other hackspaces they charge for many of their
workshops, quite sizable sums, and get a full house. For example
nottinghacks beginners arduino workshops are £16 a head, and are over
subscribed.

Not everyone can afford such fees, and we wouldn't want to wind up
discriminating against those on a lower income, but it does appear very
much that cost affects perceived value, so we should definitely give
consideration to having certain 'premium' events, as well as free to
members ones.
