[Swansea Hackspace] Calibrating the 3d printer?

Forgot to mention, the astroprint cloud slicer ive used has worked well for me, I may try Slic3r on my desktop this evening.

Before having a desktop slicer I had been using www.astroprint.com with Ceri's CoreXY through my android phone, after setting the printer parameters once, the gcode file was copied fro my phone to the SD card and the few small prints I did came out just fine.

If the model is already in the best orientation, I like astroprint, has all the usual features like infill and support.

No animals were harmed in the making of this email. However, several thousand electrons were severely inconvenienced.

Unfortunately, due to family issues i haven't been in lately,

but just a reminder,

my printer is there for general usage (money for filament to hackers, as usual)

Any one competent is free to use it,

there should be a Slic3r profile on the SD card.

but gwion has got cura to work well.

Enjoy !

Sorry for the delay in response, someone else said they were going to
respond.

I did the calibration and rebuilt the control software last night, so
our reprap printer is now safe to use.

You may need to do some experimentation to find the ideal temperature
for your chosen filament, but the temperature will now be accurate, and
so should match the guidelines you find online.

For the curious, the procedure needed was this one:
