[Swansea Hackspace] Mending a tent....

Hello!

I have set myself a little mission for the weekend/next week to repair the
zip on my tent. By repair I mean replace, and by replace I mean stitch
another zip on top of the old zip.

I think I'm going to need to machine stitch the new zip on (once I've found
one), but don't have a machine to do this with. Does the hackspace have a
sewing machine that could take on this task, and if so could someone very
kindly show me how to use it in a way where I don't end up stitching myself
to some material?
