[Swansea Hackspace] Accessing laptop without video

Honestly it sounds like it might be a bigger issue with the laptop, graphics or something. Is it being detected on the network? Or anything that shows it actually coming on?

The laptop runs ubuntu and is booting and I can log in with the password blind and it responds to pings on my internal network.

I can obviously try swapping around the hard disk.

However, before then is there anything any one can suggest that I can easily do perhaps by typing in commands carefully and blindly to get access to the files across a network

Telnet ssh etc.

Alternatively is there any other method to add to my knowledge of what is working.Where i am what is going on etc without being able to use video.

Any help would be welcome.
