[Swansea Hackspace] Problem with power "hole"

I wonder if anyone can suggest an answer to this problem.

Also there may be tools at the space that can help.I have a laptop and 
the power supply lead has broken. I have a new one but part of the old 
one is still inside the socket.

It is one of those right angled plugs that is narrower that an audio 
jack. The outer sheath has come away from the wiring inside and remained 
inside the hole.

Any ideas how to remove it? What tools could I use or improvise?
