[Swansea Hackspace] Volunteering opportunity

To all the Swansea Hackspace members and interested parties,

Tata Steel R&D team is currently recruiting volunteers for a charity event
that is being organized in partnership with Repair Café Wales on the
evenings (17:00 – 20:00 h) of the 28th May and 11th June in Swansea
University (Singleton Campus).

This will consist in two drop-in sessions where people with broken
electrical appliances and skilled fixers meet to get them repaired for
free. Donation systems will be in place to partially cover the costs of
consumables and insurance, and teas will be provided for the public.

This event is inspired on the two Repair Cafes that are currently taking
place on a bi-weekly basis in Swansea, which already proved to be quite
successful.

The event will be operated as per the quality standards and ethos of Repair
Café Wales, which can be consulted on their official webpage.

If you were interested in volunteering for the event, please do not
hesitate in contacting us on tatarepaircafeswansea at gmail.com and we will
arrange a desk on the Café room where you can organize your tools and crack
on with the job!

Parking space can also be arranged on Campus if required, so don’t doubt
about asking.

The areas of expertise we would ideally cover between all the fixers are
the typical for Repair Café Events:

• Bikes (basic servicing)
• Electric and electronic appliances
• Textiles
• Generalist

If you feel confident with repairing items in any of these categories let
us know, we are really looking forward to meeting you!
