Hello, Folks!
It has been a while since we've updated the Hackspace Mailing list of our progress with the new Hackspace premises. While the new lockdown hasn't exactly made renovation work easy, we have managed to get the basics done in small steps. The premises are safer now, but still in need of volunteers for cleaning up and simple renovations tasks, when the lockdown eases up enough to allow it safely.
We also feel that the time has come for us to begin getting some of our stuff out of storage, and into the new Hackspace. To that goal, we're going to need some volunteers this Saturday, 6th March, from 10 AM, to transfer our belongings out of the Community Workshops on the High Street, to the Hackspace on Park Street. We have cars for this, we need able bodies who don't mind hauling stuff up stairs. Ideally, we would like two to three volunteers for loading at the Community Workshops, and the same number at the Hackspace itself to unload.
If you've yet to see our new premises, this is an ideal opportunity to come check them out. Or, if you've already been and want to help out, please send an email to directors at swansea.hackspace.org.uk, or tell us on the Planning channel of our Discord https://discord.gg/rSyTWUA
I hope that by now, it goes without saying, but if you wish to help, please wear a mask.
Regards
Andy Rush
