Even in a very severe depression that would not pay for a space, equipment, bills etc. As Paul already said, Bristol Hackspace charges a minimum of £10/month. Makerspace in Cambridge charges £40/month. They did have an interesting way to bootstrap the hackspace: "Founder Members paid £250 upfront before Makespace was open, in exchange for 6 months of membership including early access to the space and involvement in planning and building the space and community."<div><br></div><div>According to London Hackspace, they require an average of £20/month per member to survive. Makerspace Newcastle charges a minimum of £10/month, but encourages members who use the space more to pay more. I guess rent will be our main cost, so the monthly subscription depends<br>
pretty much on where we end up and how many we are. We should keep it to<br>
£10 - £15 if possible or we'll start excluding people.<br>
