ah!
im so out of date/so much forgotten, thimgs moved on so much, i need an 
a-z crash course in electronis... now, where to begin?
well , this instructables site, the fritzing thing and nagging you lot 
is something.

I shall endevour to find an fun way to do it and use a computer to do 
all the maths, and try and remember just a smattering of theory and do 
some stuff for fun.
I guess the alternative/off grid thing may be a way forward as ive lived 
like that for decades in vans etc and lots of people i know still do and 
.... consumer electronics is JUST starting to catch up with them!

low power communication devices (read rasp pi and internet etc) 
wireless, 3g tablets and at my end.
these bonkers mentalist hi power LEDS etc for different lighting, power 
storage options and controllers yadda yadda :)
