[Swansea Hackspace] How small can the laser cutter cut accurately?

I have my doubts, the laser as it stands seems to be rather crude when going sub 500microns (needs more tuning I think). Would be more than happy to experiment with card on Monday evening or tomorrow if we get a chance.

I'm curious about the idea of laser cutting some of those gears, but I'm not sure how small the laser cutter can actually go. so far, the smallest I've cut with it is a few 1mm diameter holes, which were spot on in terms of size. Does anyone know if it can cut details that are under 1mm in size?
