[Swansea Hackspace] 3d printer

It's not the requirement to put it together that bothers me, i built
the RepRapPro we have, and we can find people to do that no problem.

It's more the implication that as a kit it will inevitably need
tweaking, adjusting, or otherwise frobbing with on a continual basis.

If we can be reasonably assured that this will not be the case, that
once built it will then "just work" and be reasonably user friendly
then perhaps it would be acceptable.

but "it comes as a kit" has a LOT of that stigma attached that needs to
be overcome.
