Activities
This meeting was a hands on introduction to the PIC microcontroller, giving attendies the chance to build a simple circuit and program the controller for it.
All of the components and tools were be supplied, several people brought their own laptops, and we had 5 teams working on their projects. Special thanks to Dr. Davies for furnishing us with bench power supplies at the last moment.
The project was a simple 'simulated coin toss' circuit built on breadboard using a PIC12F1840, two LEDs and a push button. When the button is pressed and released the device illuminates one of the LEDs at random. You can download the circuit diagram and programming instructions for yourself.
