An introduction to using a USB-UART board to interface a PIC microcontroller to a desktop/laptop PC.
All of the components and tools were be supplied, several people brought their own laptops, and programmers, and we had 5 teams working on their projects.
The project allowed commands typed on the PC to control LEDs attached to the PIC, a pushbutton was also provided for further experimentation.
You can download the circuit diagram and programming instructions for yourself.
